Update Gelora Bung Tomo: Drone Technology in the Project
Project Update
October 27, 2020

The presence of drone technology that is affordable and easier to use really help make documentation of construction projects much easier. If in the past maybe we had to rent a special drone or even a helicopter to take construction pictures from the air, now commercial drones are starting to replace this role. Drone technology is also very helpful for the initial mapping of a construction project.
In the Gelora Bung Tomo project, our team routinely takes drone videos and photos for the benefit of the progress report on the Bung Tomo Stadium seats installation project. From the air, the progress of the work over time can be very clear the difference and this makes it easier for administrative reports and project accountability when needed. The main objectives of the drone's presence in large-scale projects such as the Bung Tomo Stadium are:
- Aerial mapping of the project site. At Gelora Bung Tomo this initial aerial survey made it very easy for the project team to map the location and plan for the installation of chairs.
- Update documentation during the project: During the project, photo and video documentation from the drone at Gelora Bung Tomo is very useful for seeing the general progress of a project and also remapping locations that may not have been worked on. The documentation from drone alsu used for administration purposes.
- Social media marketing needs: it is undeniable that drone images also help Datra's marketing team to keep providing interesting updates on Datra's social media which you can follow here:
