If you want to build a court for many sports but have limited land, a multifunctional sports court can be your choice.
As the name suggests, a multifunctional sports court is a court that can be used for various sports. So you can maximize the existing land. On this court, you can adjust the size of the court based on what sport you are going to do. Generally, the court is designed and built so that it can be used for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and futsal. To distinguish one sport from another, court markings will be made in different colors, making it easier to use.
TYPES OF MULTIFUNCTION court
Acrylic Based Court
Our first recommendation is an acrylic court. Acrylic-based courts can be used for sports such as tennis, basketball to badminton. In terms of cost, this type of court is quite affordable. For this type of court, we recommend a Datra Court, because this court has a bright color, is durable and resistant to weather changes, making it suitable for outdoor use, such as courts in residential areas, apartments or schools.
This court is recommended to use asphalt as a sub-base in order to produce an even court, which is then installed with a filler course in the form of acrylic material and silica sand as the initial layer. Followed by a texture course to create a uniform court texture, then coated with a finishing course layer whose job is to provide a color that is durable and resistant to weather changes. After that, you can add court lines as needed with acrylic latex paint.
Interlock System
The next option for a multifunctional court is to use a court with an interlock system. This court is unique, because of its puzzle-like design so that it can be disassembled and assembled. In addition, this system makes it easy for you to assemble and store when not in use.
Court interlocks are manufactured from strong and durable polypropylene (PP) plastic. Some of these types of courts also have a suspension in the form of a shock pad under the floor surface so that it can absorb vibrations or so-called shock absorption.
Rubber Based Court
Our rubber based court has a popular option namely Herculan MF. The meaning of MF on Herculan MF is multifunctional. Herculan MF is suitable for basketball, badminton and volleyball. Herculan MF itself has a composition consisting of a rubber mat with various thicknesses. Then, on top of the rubber mat, there is a pore filler to close the pores. Then self leveling so that the surface of the court is flat and then covered with a top coat made of polyurethane.
Herculan MF rubber mat has a thickness of 5 to 12 mm and the thickness of this rubber will affect the shock absorption of the court, ranging from 15 - 39%. Where the higher the level of shock absorption, the softer the court will be, but it can also have an effect on the bounce of the ball.
We recommend the Herculan MF 7+2 court which has a shock absorption of 25%, thus creating the bounce that is expected in basketball and volleyball, along with a soft feel that is perfect for sports that require physical agility such as badminton and volleyball.
Court with LED Technology
Another multifunctional court is ASB Glassfloor, which offers an LED screen court that can be used for a variety of sports. This product comes from Germany and is well known as a court product with the most modern special led technology in the world. ASB Glassfloor has 2 main products for multifunctional courts, namely ASB Multisports and ASB Lumiflex.
ASB Multisport uses LED technology for its court lines so that court layouts can be changed easily with the click of a button on the provided system. While ASB Lumiflex is a led court technology where the court can use a custom template for the court line to make the player look like in a video game. This will certainly make the court look more attractive and can be a selling point in itself.
