VR and AR Technology at Stadium

Since the days of the ancient world, sports arenas such as stadiums have always been one of the centers of activity for all citizens. Starting from sports, to cultural and entertainment centers. Nothing beats the feeling of being able to watch our favorite group band or our favorite sports team compete live in a big stadium with thousands of fans.

However, since the COVID-19 pandemic took place, stadiums in the world have now had to find ways to meet citizens' needs for public space and also minimize the direct spread of the pandemic.

AUGMENTED REALITY AND VIRTUAL REALITY

Right now the solutions to these problem are Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Both of these have actually developed for a long time, especially in the 2000s, but technological innovation has been growing since the last few years, especially when COVID-19 occurred.

The presence of AR and VR can help fans to virtually feel the atmosphere of the stadium starting from the street in the stadium hallway to the sensation of watching from the stands. Even for some VR technologies, we can feel a virtual sensation directly from the sports field together with the players.

As for AR technology itself, it is more devoted to the digital combination of all match-related information such as scores, player statistics, etc. into VR so that we can see and select digital graphics in the form of AR in the middle of the game.

How do you think this technology will replace the excitement of watching live at the stadium?
