Maintaining natural and synthetic grass fields in this pandemic condition is a challenge in itself, especially because of the body fluids that come out such as sweat and saliva when using the field. To reduce unwanted risks, there are several things you can do based on research from Penn University and the American CDC:
- Utilizing sunshine. According to the CDC research, sunlight can be used to kill bacteria. Although it is still under research for the COVID-19 virus, UV rays from the sun can reduce the ability of this virus to thrive. This method is very appropriate for outdoor fields, namely by drying it for 72 hours without use.
- Using the right detergent or soap. Clean the lawn regularly using a detergent or soap that follows EPA standards and mix it according to the recommended dosage. Before doing this treatment, make sure you know that your synthetic turf is safe to use with the detergent or soap.
- Regular disinfectant. This step is highly recommended because it is very effective in eradicating bacteria and viruses, and preventing their reproduction. To ensure its efficacy, it is advisable to use a trusted disinfectant service that already understands its safe use on your lawn.
Maintaining the field in the midst of a pandemic condition is very important, but taking care of yourself and those closest to you is especially in the midst of this pandemic, so that you can enjoy public space again later.
