5 Steps to Planning a Children's Playground

Children's playground projects require a lot of planning and decision-making. Although this can feel overwhelming, the end result is very satisfying. There are 5 steps to the playground construction planning guide. This will help your project succeed.

1. Determine the Concept of the Children's Playground

In the early stages, you need to determine the concept of the children's playground. With a clear concept, you and your team will find it easier to make derivative plans. Such as budget, location selection, layout design, implementation time and other details

To make it easier to create a concept, you can start by compiling and answering the following questions:

a. What age group will be the users?
b. How many children can be accommodated?
c. What kind of playground location is needed?
d. Are there any considerations for providing facilities for children with special needs?
e. How important is a clear line of sight for easy supervision?
e. What are the safety, quality, durability, and warranty factors?

2. Prepare a Budget

Like most projects, setting a budget is an important step. Make sure the budget you make is ideal with the concept. Don't let the construction process be hampered in the middle of the road because the funds are inadequate.

To create a budget, you can start by compiling the following:

a. The volume of the playground floor area.
b. Type & number of play equipment including garden furniture.
c. Safety equipment such as fences, CCTV, lighting & other things needed.
d. Shipping costs for playground floor products, equipment & temporary storage.
e. Labor costs for playground construction.

3. Choose a Location

Choosing the best location for a playground is one of the keys to success. A location that is difficult to reach will certainly make your project results less useful. For example, if the project is a public playground, a good location is close to residential areas.

Before determining the location, we recommend that you answer the following questions:

a. Is the target location easily accessible to all target users?
b. Can the target location be monitored easily so that it can provide maximum security?
c. Can visibility & lighting be monitored ideally to maximize security?
d. Is the target location large enough to accommodate the volume of children playing?
e. Does the target location have good contours & drainage?

4. Create a Design

Design is always the most interesting part. Make sure to always refer to the concept & goals of your project. Also, consult the design to an expert you trust. With a good design, of course the results of your project will also be satisfactory for all stakeholders & users.

In compiling the design, it is a good idea to pay attention to the following:

a. An attractive 3D design appears & can be seen as a draft drawing according to the concept.
b. The entire location plan can be seen showing boundaries, dimensions, orientation, components, and other details in the project.
c. Make sure all safety specifications are met in the design.

5. Children's Playground Construction Contractor

The last stage is cooperation with a playground construction contractor. You should choose a professional & experienced contractor. A playground project built by amateurs with minimal experience will bring bad risks to your project. The quality of the playground construction may not be as expected. In the end, you will be disappointed. More than that, you will waste more money on repairs or rebuilding.

To ensure your playground is built properly, make sure the following:

a. Only work with professional & experienced contractors.
b. Use quality playground flooring products.
